We know that navigating the intricacies of special education can be overwhelming. Collegiate Hall Charter Schools Exceptional Student Support Services team is committed to helping you ensure that your student receives the services and support they are entitled to under the law.
CHILD FIND

Child Find is a component of Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and is an ongoing process of locating, identifying, and evaluating children between the ages of 3 and 21 who may need special education and related services. "All children with disabilities, residing in Tulsa Public School District, whether attending public or private schools, [including Collegiate Hall Charter Schools] should be identified, located, and evaluated." This service is provided to children with suspected disabilities, free of charge.

EDUCATIONAL TESTING REFERRALS for people who are suspected of having a disability within the Tulsa Public Schools System.

WHAT ARE MY RIGHTS UNDER IDEA?
Families who are receiving or eligible for special education services have certain rights according to state and federal laws. For questions about these rights, please contact your local school or the Special Education Services (SES) of the Oklahoma State Department of Education. These rights and procedural safeguards are in accordance with Title 34 of the Code of Federal Regulations for implementation of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and the IDEA Amendments of 1997.

Guardian Information
All students are eligible for a Free and Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) under federal law, including those students with special needs. We are committed to supporting our exceptional learners to ensure that they learn and thrive with their peers in the least restrictive environment possible and with the supports and services included in their Individualized Education Programs.
In distance learning, we will continue working with students and families to provide the specialized supports each exceptional learner needs. In some cases, our students with the greatest needs will engage in small-group in-person learning at one of our school-sites. Your child’s school will contact you if your child is eligible for in-person learning.
During distance learning, Individualized Education Plan (IEP) teams will use the following considerations to develop support plans for exceptional students:

Students' access to technology;

Students' access to academic skills necessary to engage with instructional materials;

Students' access to executive skills necessary to participate in distance learning;

Students' cognitive needs that may impact access to distance learning;

Students' access to communications to support engaging with virtual curriculum (e.g. verbal/written/communication skills); and

Students' behavior and social/emotional supports required to access virtual curriculum.
