VITA: Free Income Tax Preparation

Prepared for you: VITA

Individuals and families with annual household income of $57,000 or less, can file for free through the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA), facilitated by Goodwill Industries of Tulsa.

Virtual tax preparation begins February 1 for 2021 Tax Season. You will need an email address to use the virtual service:

  • Visit GetYourRefund.org/tulsa on a tablet or cellphone, or PC.

  • Answer questions to enter your basic information.

  • Follow prompts to take pictures to upload your identification and tax documents.

  • Expect call within two days from a VITA volunteer.


VALET VITA Taxpayers who need assistance registering and uploading their documents can use our Valet VITA services at 1667 South Yale Avenue. Greeters will assist clients Monday-Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

What to Bring/Upload?

  • Social Security cards or Individual Taxpayer Identification notices/cards for you, your spouse, and/or dependents on the return

  • Government issued photo ID, employer ID, or school ID as proof of identification for yourself and/or your spouse. Note: If using Valet VITA service, it is recommended that for married filing joint, both spouses be present

  • Proof of foreign status if applying for ITIN

  • All Forms W-2 and 1099

  • Information for other income

  • Information for all deductions/credits

  • Form 1095-A, Marketplace healthcare coverage

  • A copy of last year’s tax return (not required but helpful)

  • Banking information for direct deposit of refund
