Ms. Sedore - Reading

We are working on our final project for Malcolm X, and this week will be starting a two week poetry unit to close out. Students: make sure to finish your Malcom X project!


*For students who haven’t read all of novel, you can: timeline choice (can do outside research), 5 facts about Malcolm X in tik tok (can do outside research), or essay questions about Malcolm X achievements (can do outside research).

*Special* Black History Month Family Night!

Collegiate Hall is partnering with the Greenwood Art Project as a part of our Black History Month programming! Join us on Friday, February 26th at 6pm on Zoom for a special presentation by GAP, where our families will learn how to take part in a Poster Project honoring Greenwood and in response to the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre. Everyone who attends will be able to learn more about how YOU can submit a poster to be displayed in GAP Art Galleries across Tulsa!


Following GAPs presentation will be our final BHM Movie Night where we will be showing the feature film, Black Panther! February 26th is a night you do NOT want to miss! RSVP now to access the Zoom link and be entered for the chance to win a Movie Snack Basket sponsored by Family Partnership Team (FPT). Other prizes will also be raffled off throughout the night, but only those in attendance will be able to win.

Collegiate Hall will be hosting 4 Family Movie Nights during February where we will show a different family movie to honor and celebrate the contributions of Black Americans. Our first Family Movie Night is this Friday, February 12th at 6:00pm on Zoom. RSVP and learn more at collegiatehall.org/events/movies

Black History Month Family Movie Nights!

Collegiate Hall will be hosting 4 Family Movie Nights during February where we will show a different family movie to honor and celebrate the contributions of Black Americans. The 4 movies to be shown will be chosen from the list below by YOU, our students and families. Voting Ends: 11:59pm on Sunday, February 7th. VOTE HERE!

Social Studies is starting to write 5 paragraph essays! Please come to class time on Tuesdays and Fridays.


WEEK 10 (NOV.)

8th grade and 7th grade Social Studies is getting ready to take their Unit 2 assessment and complete their Unit 2 performance assessments. Students are highly encouraged to come to office hours to go over all of the content learned in Unit 2, and get help on the specific assignments you have questions about. Can't wait to see you there!



Mrs. Matthews - Humanities


Hello 8th grade families! This week your student will have the opportunity to debate during office hours or small groups for their Humanities class. Your student will get a specific 15 minute block that they need to attend sent to them in their office hours/small group invite email. Please remind your student to attend since this will be a great time for them to practice public speaking and earn a mastery grade.


Ms. Marshall - Student Check-Ins

Students who want extra 1:1 time with Mrs. Marshall are able to request check in times with her via Calendly. These will begin Nov. 16 and will continue throughout the semester. MC Pride members will have at least 1 mandatory check in to provide the girls with more space to talk about their badgework, academics and other happenings in their life (opt). Though geared towards MC Pride members, this is open and optional for ALL Social Studies students. If you feel your student would benefit from 1:1 academic coaching for Social Studies, please reach out!
