Dean of Culture & Community
Hey! I'm Ben Imlay and I'm the Dean of Culture & Community (which is fancy for saying I work directly for our parents and families -- they are my boss). I'm entering my fourth year with Collegiate Hall, where I have taught social studies for grades 4-8 the past three years.
Before I became a teacher, I graduated from Wittenberg University (Ohio) with a Bachelors of Arts in History and Political Science. I've also taught English in China for a summer, and did some salsa dancing (among other things) in Cuba for a summer study abroad program. Following graduation, I served as an AmeriCorps VISTA with Sprinigfield Promise Neighborhood, a poverty-alleviation non-profit in Springfield, Ohio.
I strongly believe in the adage, "it takes a village to raise a child". All of us -- parents, families, students, teachers, bus drivers etc -- are working in partnership to provide the future our young people deserve. I joined education to be a part of this partnership, and wake up everyday inspired to serve alongside all of you!
