Dean of Students, Elementary
Hello! I'm Elisabeth Herbert and I am excited to serve as the Dean of Scholars for Collegiate Hall Elementary. My job includes working to support all of our elementary students socially and emotionally and coordinating our SEL programs and initiatives.
I previously taught 6th grade reading and was a co-teacher for 6th grade math at our middle school. Prior to coming to Collegiate Hall, I worked for two years at another charter school as a Kindergarten teacher and Behavior Interventionist.
I graduated from Cedarville University (Ohio) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work. In college I was able to develop my passion for social justice and service, acknowledging the dignity and worth of every individual. After spending five years as a Social Services Director in a skilled nursing facility, I felt pulled toward pursuing work in education. Education has always played a vital role in my life and many of my family members are educators themselves - I believe in the strength of education to empower individuals, build confidence, and break down barriers.
Constants in my life include my husband Justin, books, dogs, sports, and coffee. We have two black lab mixes, Boston (after the marathon) and Charlotte. I am a big Ohio State Buckeyes fan and cheer faithfully for all Cleveland sports teams!
